Looks great. I've seen them cutting plywood sheets at home depot. So willthey let you cut it down to the sizes you need there, or did you cut them up yourself somewhere else. Im debating on how to build my stand for a 75, same dimensions. Was also thinking plywood, but was trying to decide on wether it needed to be exterior grade and how to seal it. Any plans to paint or seal i?

It looks nice, but I'm surprised noone has said anything about the structural.

Your using what seems to me to be 1x3 or 2x3 wood pieces, for lumber companies these are the lowest quality pieces, very weak IMO. Also was the shell built first and the skeleton attached thereon or vice versa?

With the 4 ft span, im scared it'll bow in the middle with the weak wood you have. Usually you want support on every 16-24 inches and thats w/ 2x4's, if you want a big slot like you have I think 2x6's wouldve worked well.

Aesthetically, it looks good, but remember your gonna have about 1000 pounds or more on that stand

FWIW, my father's a contractor, and Ive built everything from stands to additions

In trying to decide how to build my stand, I did a lot of looking around. There is an all-glass stand with a 90 gallon tank at the 16th street petco. It does have a center front support, but it is only like a 1x3. And there is no center support at all in the back. I would say deelucky's front opening is smaller than the rear opening of the one in the store.

That said, it scared me how little there was under that tank and many other's I saw. I would sleep better with a 2x4 center support in the front also. It would be nice to make it removable for those times when you could open it up to be able to take the sump in and out. Ofcourse, you would lower the display tanks water level before doing so.

FWIW Reefoman had his 187gal on a stand designed the same way with no problems.

Dee, I don't see anything ghetto about your setup except for maybe that big space in between your canopy doors :D Really nice work so far.
