Don't do it! They are reef safe, but absolutely not hardy. It's almost impossible to provide them with enough planktonic food. They need a constant stream of food rich water to feed on, or they will eventually die. They aren't impossible to keep, but difficult enough to make it highly impractical. This is a critter best left in the oceans.

why do you have the same post twice look at the replys in the other one just dont get it it will die for sure

It's pretty easy now to accidentally submit the same post twice. If you post and the system is busy, or gives you a data missing message it will often repeat the post when you reload to try again. Apparently only moderators can delete a post, not even the originator.

Any one familar with a feather starfish? I saw a few at LFS yesterday. They look kind of like a sea whip when the feathers are expanded. Are they hardy and reef safe? Thanks
