Star fish question

i'm not a breeder or anything but I just had a quick question... last night i went down to my tank and seen something on the glass that looked like tiny star fish so i turned on the lights and there was a baby star fish, i dont have any star fish in there and i was wondering if they lay eggs and the egg just was in my live rock...??

Hi desten, welcome to reefs.org. Absolutely, or the baby stars could have been hiding in there in the first place.

It may be a micro star, a full grown adult is about 3/4 inch across.

And they multiply by dividing if I'm not mistaken, so plan on seeing several more =)
