We thought we'd share the progress of our coral farm with the reefs.com community! Feedback welcome!

Some specs:
  • 4 - 132" x 60" x 18" Propagation Tanks
  • 1 - 144" x 48" x 30" Show Tank (for growing colonies)

  • 1,000 square foot building

This farm will not be open to the public. It will allow us to propagate corals like never before. We will be able to stock the retail store, website, live sales, ebay, etc. with hundreds of different frags simultaneously. We will have the space needed to propagate all the rare corals that are currently growing in our show tanks. It will also house new quarantine setups and receiving tanks for fish and corals. We are very excited about this farm as we believe it will take us to the next level and enable us to provide you guys with a much more diverse and much larger selection of WWC corals.

We plan to have the farm complete in the next few months. It will plumb into our existing systems, so no cycle.

We still have to:

Finish installing lighting, plumbing, water pumps/powerheads, frag racks, etc.
16' shipping and fragging area.
Setup receiving tanks and quarantine.
Plumbing R/O and Salt VATS to the systems.

We are expecting the sumps any day now and the A/C will be running next week so we should have part of the system online very soon!

Here's a few pictures with plenty more to come!

We are very excited about our 5 new PantaRhei Hydro Wizards that will provide laminar flow for the farm.

Here you can see just how much room these frag tanks hold. We put some temporary frag racks in them for now. We will design some kind of modular egg crate racks soon that will be uniform across the tanks.

First hood is now suspended! Looks much better!

We used all thread to suspend it so we can raise it up and down.

We removed all the tanks/sumps/plumbing we had accumulated over the years.. it was a mess. Now just a clean 4" drain to the farm.

oi5xj3J.jpg

Our good friend Luis removing 2 180g tanks from our retail floor. We won't need them now that we have the farm.

mORB0ef.jpg

So much more room now in the shop. We still have to finish the tile and close in the plumbing so you don't see it.

Mounted the lights in the hood for the farm show tank.

This frag tank used to be where we take frag photos for online inventory. Now it will be re-used as a coral receiving/quarantine tank.
