What does the bulb look like? I bought a brand new one today at the LFS. The information on the end has flaked off and I am wondering if it is used, or even if it is the right bulb. I put it in just to see, and it looks very yellow for a 10K. I have another one that doesn't look like this one. This one is long and has a bulge in the middle. Not sure how else to describe it, but if you have a bulb like this you will know what I mean. What bulb is this?

I recently saw photos of the *NEW AND IMPROVED* 12K bulb from ALS. It has this bulge in it. You might want to look for those images. They were either on this board or RC.

I returned the bulb. The rubbed off writing bothered me the most. Otherwise, I would have assumed it was the right bulb and just needed a burn in to get rid of the yellow. I couldn't find the pictures you mentioned Nathan. Has anyone ever seen this bulb, either as an Aqualine 10K or something else?

The bulb with the bulge is how my Aqualine Bushkie bulb looked that I bought from Champion. BTW it also burned yellow for about the first hundred hours.

None of the bulbs in that thread looked like mine so now I am really suspicious. I put some pictures up.

Notice the big bulge in the middle of the glass covering part of the bulb. Also, the writing on the tip of the bulb which should identify it is almost rubbed off completely and can't be read, is this normal for a new bulb? There is also a number 42 near the base of the bulb.

The box is labeled Aqualine 10000, 400 W, CW, E 40.

Any ideas?
