Dr. Ron,

One thing that came up in the Wednesday chat (which you were sadly unable to attend, but, fear not, Chucker was sporting his "Dr. Ron suit") was a question I had about smooth muscle and striated muscle.

My biology dictionary defines smooth muscle as involuntary and striated as voluntary. This got me to thinking about the definitions of "voluntary" and "involuntary". (For example: can an animal with no brain actually have involuntary actions?) It all sort of depends on the definition of the terms. Also, where does that leave myoepithelial cells? Are they considered voluntary or involuntary?

What are your thoughts on the subject?

P.S. Best of luck getting your computer cured!
