Return Pump Sizing

I'm in the process of setting up a 75 gallon Megaflow AGA. The website says the overflow has a maximum output of 600 GPH. Guesstimating on friction and and the intended hight of my system (about 5 feet), I think a Magdrive 9 would do more or less. Not having done sumps before, is there anything I should consider when selecting a return pump? What happens if I accidentally overkill?

A mag 9 would work. I run a 9 on my 120, and my overflow is rated 700 gph.
If it's too much you can dial it back a bit with a ball valve, but I don't think you'll have a problem given the head loss.
