I got this for free but have no idea what it is(not the birds nest in front)?
Anybody have a clue,(sorry for the bad pic- best I could get)
or how much light it should or should not get?

Deanos is correct if the assumption is the foreground - if it's the forefront - it's a birdsnest (seriatopora)

Ok...I'll go with it being an Acan...what are the light requirements for acans?
I can find tons for sale- lots of pics- but no light requirements?!?!?
strong med low???? I don't want to burn this thing up!

What lighting did it come from? And what lighting do you have? Where was it placed in it's original tank? If your lighting is stronger start the Acan low on the botom of the tank, if equal try to put it in the same spot in which it was (Height) If your lighting is lower than the original tank start high and move down. Acans can get kinda mean so leave it some space between other corals too. Good luck it looks like a great piece!

I have no idea where it was in the other tank...it was sent in the mail as a freebie!
I run 2 -250w 10k MH with 2 - 90w super actinics
So do acans like low med or high light?
I can put it in any of the three and would prefere to give it what it wants most.
Thanks for the heads up about it being kinda mean...I'll make sure it has only distant neighbours!!

Bottom of the tank, assuming the tank is not deeper than 24". You may be able to move it higher once the coral colors up.
